IT'S ALL HER
A romantic tragedy about fragile love...
Starring: Viktoria Tolstoganova, Denis Vlasenko
The much-discussed premiere of the new theatrical production by the famous director Daniil Chashin, starring Viktoria Tolstoganova in the leading role. The play has enjoyed tremendous success with audiences and has already toured many countries – now it’s coming to North America in April!
How do you regain trust? How do you understand and hear each other? How do you restore broken relationships?
At the heart of the story is a mother who, after the death of her husband, struggles to connect with her teenage son. In an attempt to learn more about his life, she devises a clever plan: she creates a fake social media account and begins communicating with him under the guise of a peer. This online dialogue draws them both in – they start living in two realities. In one, there is a deafening wall and loneliness, and in the other – an illusion of a perfect world, where they find what they are missing in life.
The situation spirals out of control when the boy falls in love with his mysterious online companion. It turns into a tragedy when he learns the truth.
This story will remind the audience of the tragedy of King Oedipus, beloved by Freud, who, after the death of his father, unknowingly fell in love with and married his own mother.
Director Daniil Chashin admits that Freudian motifs are present in the production, but the meaning of the play is something else.
"It’s primarily about decay, division, and fragmentation within a family," Chashin notes. "It’s about how people try to meet each other but can’t find the language they’ve lost. It’s about the search for that language."
Viktoria Tolstoganova, known to the audience for her numerous theater works as well as her lead roles in films such as "Antikiller", "Going Up", "Very Female Stories", "Mistresses", "Mediator", and others, plays the role of the mother. She is the recipient of numerous cinema and theater awards and is no stranger to playing cold and strong women! The role of the closed-off and aggressive son is played by the young and talented actor Denis Vlasenko, who has starred in films such as "Hello Again", "Happy End", "Close the Gestalt", "Stream", "Passion for Matvei", and others.
Playwright Andrei Ivanov and one of the most renowned theater directors, Daniil Chashin, do not offer ready-made solutions, but rather invite each viewer to find their own answers.
"It’s All Her" is a play not only about the fragile love between a mother and her teenager but also about love in general, about the support of a loved one, which is essential for everyone.
A thrilling plot, unique sets, and a light and sound show will leave no one indifferent.
